Admiral Arun Prakash (Retd) former CNS, interacts with Flag Officers and Commanding Officers of ENC
Admiral Arun Prakash, PVSM, AVSM, VrC, VSM, (Retd) former Chief on the of the Naval Staff(CNS) delivered a lecture on ‘Strategic Leadership and National Security’ at Maritime Warfare Centre, Visakhapatnam on 03 Feb 2020. The interactive lecture was attended by all the Flag Officers and Commanding Officers of naval units at Visakhapatnam.
Adm Arun Prakash arrived Visakhapatnam on a two-day visit to ENC on 02 Feb 20. During the visit, the former CNS interacted with Vice Adm Atul Kumar Jain, FOCinC ENC and visited some of infrastructure developments of the ENC. He also visited TU-142 Aircraft Museum and the proposed Sea Harrier Museum on the Beach Road. Earlier, Admiral Arun Prakash attended a special programme organised by the Centre for Policy Studies (CPS) at Visakhapatnam Public Library where he released a compendium of articles titled ‘India’s Strategic and Security Concerns’ written by Commodore C Uday Bhaskar (Retd) on 02 Feb 20.
Adm Prakash served as the Chief of Naval Staff from Jul 2004 to Oct 2006 and as Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet at Visakhapatnam from Apr 95 to Nov 96. As a young Lieutenant, during the 1971 war, Admiral Arun Prakash had the distinction of serving with an IAF fighter-bomber squadron, and was awarded the Vir Chakra for gallantry in air action over West Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir.
