WALTAIR DIVISION CREATES HISTORY BY SURPASSING THE TARGET
Waltair Division of Indian Railways has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing the loading target of 78.45 Million Tonnes for the first time in any financial year. This remarkable feat was accomplished 24 days ahead of the close of the financial year, marking a historic moment for the division.
Divisional Railway Manager Shri Lalit Bohra congratulated the entire team for their exceptional performance in surpassing the target and achieving 78.464 Million Tonnes of loading. He described 7th March 2026 as a landmark date that will be remembered in the annals of Waltair Division and expressed pride in the dedication and collective efforts of the Team Waltair that made this achievement possible.
The division’s achievement of loading 78.464 Million Tonnes represents a growth of more than 16.5% compared to the previous financial year 2024–25 (67.254 MT) till 7th March. This accomplishment is the result of several key factors, including customer-centric initiatives, close coordination with stakeholders, improvements in operational efficiency, capacity augmentation, and effective crew management.
Despite facing multiple challenges such as natural calamities, security-related issues, ongoing infrastructure development works including doubling and triple line projects, and safety-related modernization activities, all departments of Waltair Division worked with remarkable commitment and coordination to achieve this historic milestone.
Looking ahead, the division remains focused on maintaining this momentum and is determined to conclude the financial year 2025–26 on a high note, reflecting its continued commitment to excellence, efficiency, and sustained growth in freight loading.
