- VisakhapatnamVizagvision: *GUEST LECTURE ON CAREER PLANNING BY DRM WALTAIR*Divisional Railway Manager Shri Lalit Bohra gave a guest lecture at Dr. Lankapalli Bullayya College of Engineering (Autonomous) on Career Planning. Shri Lalit Bohra, who has 31 years of experience in various capacities, addressed the students on the importance of planning their careers in the context of India’s rapid economic growth.Highlighting that India’s economy is growing at a rate of 7–8% per annum, Shri Lalit Bohra pointed out that this growth presents immense opportunities for the younger generation. He emphasized that future generations will be part of a developed nation and urged students to focus on creating and developing technology. As engineering students, he encouraged them to remain committed, inquisitive, and eager to learn, noting that curiosity, hard work, and focus are key to success.He advised students to make the best use of technology—especially the internet—for learning and personal growth. Comparing opportunities available today with those of previous generations, Shri Lalit Bohra urged students to identify their interests, develop relevant skills, and pursue their passions with dedication. He stressed that skill development should be continuous, and practical exposure through field visits and internships is invaluable. Communication skills, he added, are critical for career advancement.Encouraging students to read books for knowledge enhancement, vocabulary building, and deeper understanding, he also highlighted the importance of upgrading skills to stay relevant. Speaking about India’s future, Shri Lalit Bohra noted that the next 20 years will be promising, with Viksit Bharat achievable through gender equality, core sector development, and a focus on entrepreneurship—especially with the strong encouragement from the Government of India.The lecture concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, where students interacted with Shri Lalit Bohra, seeking advice on career choices, industry trends, and personal development.
