Hindustan Shipyard Limited Observes Fire Service Week 2026
Hindustan Shipyard Limited observed Fire Service Week from 14-20 Apr 2026, with the theme “Safe School, Safe Hospital & Fire Safety Aware Society – Together for Fire Prevention,” reinforcing its commitment to workplace safety and community awareness.
The week commenced on National Fire Service Day with impactful demonstrations. Capt. Ganti Venkateshwarulu (IN Retd.), Chairman and Managing Director commended the fire personnel for their dedication and emphasized the need for a proactive safety culture.
Extensive outreach programs were conducted across schools, hospitals, and nearby communities through basic training and live demonstrations. Over 1,600 participants were engaged, reflecting strong public involvement. Various competitions were also conducted during the week to promote awareness, and winners were awarded prizes.
During the concluding ceremony, Cmde Rakesh Prasad, IN(Retd.), Director (Corporate Planning & Personnel), stated: “Fire safety is not an event, but a daily discipline – Awareness and Preparedness must become a habit”. “Prevention begins with each one of us.”
As part of the observance, the HSL Fire Department participated in a mega demonstration at RK Beach, earning recognition from the Honourable Home Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
