Grand Celebration of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti at NSTL
Mahatma Gandhi Jayanthi and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanthi Celebrations were organized in NSTL on 02nd October 2023 (Monday) at Mohapatra Manasi Auditorium, under the auspices of the NSTL Civil Employees Union and Works Committee.
Chief Guest is Dr. Abraham Varughese, Outstanding Scientist & Director, NSTL.
Programme started with the opening remarks by NSTL Sports & Cultural Committee Chairman Sri Ch Jayarao.
On this occasion, an amount of Rs.20,000/- as charity to Sri Prasad, Joint Secretary, Premasamajam Trust; school bags were distributed to the needy school children and Rs.20,000/- stipend to 20 students (supported by NSTL Cooperative Credit Society) by Dr. Abraham Varughese and other dignitaries.
In his address, Dr. Abraham Varughese narrated Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Sastri ji as ‘Real Heroes of the Nation’. He informed that all the countries in the world have a road with the name ‘MG Road’. He suggested to all the school children to read Mahatma Gandhi’s “The Story of My Life”. He applauded Lal Bahadur Sastry as the simplest man of India.
