SAFETY INSPECTION BY DRM WALTAIR- SAFETY SEMINAR CONDUCTED
During the safety inspection of the Route Relay Interlocking (RRI) Cabin at Visakhapatnam, conducted by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Shri Anup Satpathy, several aspects of the signaling and telecom installations were thoroughly inspected. This included panel boards, circuiting areas, junction boxes, goomities, and axle counter rooms. DRM was accompanied by a team of senior officials who were responsible for conducting the inspection.
The primary objective of such safety inspections is to promote safety consciousness among railway employees and prevent accidents. Various measures are undertaken to achieve this, including man-to-man counseling, safety circulars, safety seminars, and safety drives. Safety drives specifically focus on improving efficiency and involve inspections of critical areas such as points and crossings, bridges, and ensuring 100 percent fittings, with particular attention to vulnerable locations.
Today, safety seminar was conducted in DRM office conference hall Presided by DRM Shri Anup Satpathy. Trainee loco pilots, safety counselors, senior supervisors of various departments took part in the seminar. Speaking on the occasion DRM said that the safety is top priority and there is no excuse for lapse. The inspections will be intensified to identify any irregularities, shortcut methods, or unsafe practices employed by train passing, running, and maintenance staff. If any shortcomings or unsafe practices are detected then the remedial measures must be promptly initiated, the concerned officials are responsible for bringing them to the attention of the Station Master, higher officials who can take appropriate remedial actions.
During the inspection at Visakhapatnam, the DRM personally counseled the supervisors and field staff in the presence of other officers. The team of officials accompanying the DRM during the inspection included the Senior Divisional Engineer (Coordination), Senior Divisional Safety Officer, Senior Divisional Operations Manager, and Senior Divisional Signal and Telecom Engineer, Senior Divisional Electrical Engineers etc.
