EFFORTS CONTINUE TO SUPPLY THE ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES
Whether it is natural calamity or national crisis, Indian Railways rope up with its commitment to continue the supply chain to entire country. At the moment when the entire Nation is Lock Down due to pandemic COVID-19, the unsung heroes of Railways working round the clock to carry the essential commodities to various parts of the country. Waltair Division authorities took all possible steps to keep on the movement of goods trains with its dedicated work force. Keeping in view of the necessity of the situation, as rightly said life line of Nation, the freight movement continued with all possible precautions. Excepting the essential staff who require for trains operations, all the employees were cautioned to remain at home to stay safe, health & sanitation measures were adopted and quarantine & isolation facility readied to meet emergency.
The Division has moved 36 rakes on 26th and 21 rakes on 25th March-2020 with important commodities like Coal , Iron & steel, Containers, essential commodities etc. The committed efforts with observance of social distance being carried to cope up the crisis. All passenger and express trains are cancelled till 14th April-2020.
