RAILWAYS TO INTRODUCE TWO NEW EXPRESS TRAINS

In a significant step towards strengthening long-distance rail connectivity and enhancing passenger convenience, Indian Railways has announced the introduction of two new Express train services connecting important destinations across the East Coast Railway Zone. This initiative is aimed at providing improved travel comfort for pilgrims, tourists, and long-distance travellers. These new services will operate in addition to the existing train services, thereby augmenting connectivity and meeting the growing travel demand. The tentative train numbers and timings of the proposed services are furnished below. The exact date of introduction and operational details of these trains will be communicated in due course.
1. VISAKHAPATNAM – KOLLAM WEEKLY EXPRESS
The train No. 18501 Visakhapatnam- Kollam will leave Visakhapatnam on Tuesdays at 08.20hrs which will reach Duvvada at 08.50hrs and departure at 08.52hrs and will reach Kollam at 14.50hrs on Wednesdays.
In return direction the train No. 18502 Kollam- Visakhapatnam will leave Kollam on Wednesdays at 17.20hrs which will reach on the nextday at Duvvada at 21.50hrs and departure at 21.52hrs and will reach Visakhapatnam at 23.00hrs.
Stoppages enroute: Duvvada, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, Tadepalligudem, Eluru, Vijayawada, Tenali, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur, Renigunta, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva. Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Tiruvalla,Chengannur and Kayamkulam between Visakhapatnam and Kollam.
Composition: 2nd AC-2, 3rd AC-4, Sleeper-10, General-4 & General Second Class Divyangjan coaches-2.
2. CHARLAPALLI – SHALIMAR AMRIT BHARAT WEEKLY EXPRESS
The train No. 17065 Charlapalli- Shalimar will leave Charlapalli on Tuesdays at 07.15hrs which will reach Duvvada at 19.53hrs and departure at 19.55hrs and will reach Shalimar at 11.20hrs on Wednesday.
In return direction, the train No. 17066 Shalimar- Charlapalli will leave Shalimar on Wednesdays at 12.50hrs which will reach Duvvada on the next day at 05.55hrs and departure at 05.57hrs and will reach Charlapalli at 19.00hrs on Thursdays.
Stoppages eroute: Kazipet, Warangal, Mahbubabad, Khammam, Rayanapadu, Eluru, Rajahmundry, Samalkot, Tuni, Duvvada, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam Road, Palasa, Brahmapur, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Bhadarak, Balasore, Kharagpur and Santragachi.

With the introduction of these two new Express services, rail connectivity will be improved enhancing passenger comfort and meeting growing travel demand across these regions.
