MARITIME LAW WORKSHOP BY ICG – HQ EASTERN SEABOARD AT
VISAKHAPATNAM
Headquarters, Coast Guard Eastern Seaboard, Vishakhapatnam has conducted a two days Maritime
Law Workshop from 22 – 23 Jan 26 to enhance domain awareness of Officers with respect to the
current development in International Maritime Law highlighting its legality and limitations in Indian
context. ADG Donny Michael, PTM, TM, Coast Guard Commander Eastern Seaboard delivered
inaugural address for the workshop and also shared his vast knowledge especially case studies and
the existing grey area in the Maritime legal framework.
The two days workshop included presentations/ interactive sessions and table top exercises to train
Officers with simulated situations. This workshop has been conducted jointly for Indian Navy and
Indian Coast Guard Officers to continue ICG efforts in achieving working level synergy, coordination
and jointly protect our national maritime interests besides ensuring robust maritime security.
