HINDI FORTNIGHT CONCLUDES AT WALTAIR DIVISION
Hindi Fortnight was celebrated in a grand note at Waltair Division, East Coast Railway, from September 1 to September 12, 2025, to commemorate Hindi Day. Divisional Railway Manager Shri Lalit Bohra was the Chief Guest of the concluding ceremony. ADRM (operations) Shri Manoj Kumar Sahoo, ADRM (Infra) Shri E Santharam, were the also present at the occasion.
The fortnight featured a variety of programs, including Hindi Essay, Note & Drafting competitions, elocution contests, picture-based article writing, Antakshari, Shabdakshari, and dedicated training workshops on Hindi drafting and departmental communication. Additional highlights included poetry recitation, a Hindi seminar, and interactive table training activities across departments. The fortnight was conducted under the supervision by Hindi Officer & Divisional Commercial Manager Smt Pooja Singh.
Railway employees participated with great fervor in all events, showcasing remarkable enthusiasm and commitment to promoting the use of Hindi. The Hindi fortnight celebrations showed enthusiastic participation employees of Waltair Division, reflecting a positive organizational culture towards Official Language implementation.
Today, September 12, 2025, the closing ceremony of Hindi Fortnight was held in a grand atmosphere. Officers and employees who demonstrated outstanding work in the field of Hindi during the year received certificates of appreciation. Winners of various competitions were also felicitated with certificates in recognition of their achievements.
The valedictory function featured a cultural programme, including melodious Hindi songs presented by staff from various departments, followed by a Hindi stage play ‘Vastraharan’ performed by the Waltair Division Cultural Association. These performances highlight the division’s commitment to promoting Hindi through creative expressions.
Divisional Railway Manager Shri Lalit Bohra commended the team of Official Language department, Waltair Division, for successfully organizing the Hindi Fortnight and motivating widespread participation among employees.
