Vizagnagram Vizag vision WALTAIR DIVISION CONTINUES CLEAN ENVIRONMENT CAMPAIGN In a focused effort to promote sustainability, reduce plastic pollution, and engage the community, Indian Railways has launched a comprehensive clean environment campaign from May 22 to June 5, 2025, in observance of World Environment Day. The initiative involves passengers, NGOs, students, and the general public.As part of the campaign, Waltair Division has undertaken several initiatives to raise environmental awareness. Public drives at station premises are informing passengers about the ban on single-use plastics and encouraging the use of reusable steel bottles to curb plastic waste.The Environment & Housekeeping Department of Waltair Division conducted special cleanliness and waste management drives at various railway stations, railway establishments, and nearby areas, with active support from the railway staff and NGOs.Additionally, in collaboration with the Pollution Control Board, an awareness drive was held at Vizianagaram railway station. Placards and slogan announcements during train arrivals highlighted the harmful effects of plastic and promoted sustainable practices among passengers.
