The East Coast Railway Sports Association (ECoRSA) successfully concluded its highly anticipated Summer Coaching Camp 2025, held from April 22 to May 30, 2025. The 40-day camp, hosted at the Waltair Railway Stadium, provided world-class sports coaching to children aged 5 to 15 years, with sessions conducted both in the morning and evening.
The closing ceremony was graced by Divisional Railway Manager and President of ECoRSA, Shri Lalit Bohra, as the chief guest. Other distinguished guests included President ECoRWWO Smt. Jyotsna Bohra, ADRM (Operations) Shri Manoj Kumar Sahoo, Sports Officer Shri M. Haranath, Treasurer Shri Jusuf Kabir Ansari, Assistant Sports Officers Shri Sh. Patil & Shri Sahu, General Secretary Smt. N. Usha, and representatives of recognized unions.
The camp offered coaching in a wide array of sports for both boys and girls. For Boys: Athletics, Boxing, Basketball, Cricket, Ball Badminton, Football, Shuttle Badminton, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Yoga, and Volleyball. For Girls: Athletics, Boxing, Basketball, Shuttle Badminton, Swimming, Table Tennis, Yoga, and Tennis.
In his address, DRM Shri Lalit Bohra commended the ECoRSA team for the successful organization of the camp. He emphasized the significance of such initiatives in nurturing young talent, promoting sportsmanship, and providing opportunities for local youth to excel at the national and international levels. The camp was open free of charge to children of Railway employees as well as residents of Visakhapatnam, ensuring broad community participation, he added.
To encourage a healthy competitive spirit, various sports competitions were held on the final day of the camp. Winners and runners-up were awarded trophies and certificates, while all participants received certificates of participation in recognition of their enthusiasm and effort.
