YOGA CONTROLS EMOTIONS & MANAGES STRESS – SHRI PARMESHWAR FUNKWAL GM ECWaltair Division of East Coast Railway observed the 10th International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and participation across various locations. The event, held from 07:00hrs to 08:00hrs, saw a significant turnout of railway staff, officers, and yoga enthusiasts who engaged in sessions aimed at harnessing the benefits of yoga for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.



Under the esteemed guidance of Shri Parmeshwar Funkwal, General Manager of East Coast Railway, the event was attended by Divisional Railway Manager Shri Saurabh Prasad, ADRM (Infra) Shri Sudhir Kumar Gupta, Senior Divisional Personnel Officer Shri Ranjan Kumar Mohanty, along with other branch officers and staff at Koraput. Participants practiced various yoga asanas while the yoga guru elucidated their importance in achieving holistic health and fostering global harmony.
Speaking on the occasion, GM Shri Parmeshwar Funkwal emphasized the profound significance of yoga in promoting health, peace, and spiritual alignment. He highlighted yoga as a timeless gift from India’s ancient traditions and advocated for its adoption as a basis for healthy lifestyle.
At Visakhapatnam, Waltair Division wing of East Coast Railway Women’s Welfare Organization organized yoga sessions at the Rail Club, led by Mrs. Manjushree Prasad, President of ECoR Women’s Welfare Organisation-Waltair, ADRM Operations Shri Manoj Kumar Sahoo, and Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Tiruarul Jothi. ECORWWO Vice Presidents Smt Kavita Gupta, Smt Madhusmitha Sahoo, Women officers, staff, sports persons, and guides participated actively, underscoring the inclusive nature of the event.
Mrs. Manjushree Prasad, CMS Dr. KRT Jothi, and ADRM (OP) Shri Manoj Kumar Sahoo addressed the gathering, highlighting the role of yoga in managing stress and enhancing mental well-being. They stressed that yoga offers a transformative remedy for mental imbalances, fostering increased focus, confidence, and resilience in dealing with life’s challenges.
Yoga camps were simultaneously conducted at multiple locations including Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam Road, Rayagada, Koraput, and Jagdalpur, showcasing widespread participation and enthusiasm for harnessing yoga’s benefits across the division.
