Governor of AP witnesses ‘Navy Band Concert’ at Visakhapatnam
As part of the Navy Day celebrations, the Indian Naval Symphonic Orchestra, an ensemble of highly acclaimed naval musicians performed in front of the Hon’ble Governor of Andhra Pradesh Shri Biswa Bhusan Harichandan at the Samudrika Naval Auditorium this evening. The Band Concert was followed by a Sound n Light show and a banquet hosted by the Indian Navy for the Hon’ble Governor in the ENC Officer’s Mess. The event was attended by a host of dignitaries including senior officials from the central and state governments, in addition to serving and retired senior officers and heads of establishments. The Hon’ble Governor interacted with the guests and naval personnel during the event. This is the second visit of the Hon’ble Governor to ENC and maiden participation in Navy Day Celebrations after being sworn in as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh on 24 Jul this year.
As part of the hour-long band concert, an enthralling ensemble of tunes were played by the Navy Band and included a various range of Martial music, Carnatic Fusion and Patriotic Tunes. A scintillating Sound n Light show by naval personnel from Local Flotilla depicted the incredible story of the Indian Navy since independence during various wars, operations and beautifully highlighted the Military role in safeguarding our Nation’s national security and maritime interests, the Diplomatic role in support of foreign policy objectives by building ‘bridges of friendship’ and strengthen international cooperation, in Constabulary role enforcing law of the land and in Benign role like Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief(HADR), Search and Rescue (SAR) missions.
Earlier, the Hon’ble Governor was received by Vice Adm Atul Kumar Jain, FOC-in-C ENC and a fifty-men Guard of Honour was paraded at INS Dega on arrival. The Hon’ble Governor was seen off by the CinC at INS Dega on his departure from Visakhapatnam on completion of the event.
