The train No. 22701/ 22702 Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam Double Decker UDAY express flagged off today by Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways Shri Suresh Channabasappa Angadi from Visakhapatnam Railway station, in august presence of ShriGVL Narasimha Rao Hon’ble MP (RS), Shri M. V. V. Satyanarayana, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha) , Visakhapatnam, Ms Goddeti Madhavi, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), Araku, Shri Raghuram Krishna Raju, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), Shri P. V. N. Madhav Hon’ble MLC, Shri Pakalapati Raghu Varma, Hon’ble MLC, Shri Duvvarapu Rama Rao, Hon’ble MLC, Sri Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar, MLA, Visakhapatnam South, Sri Tippala Nagi Reddy, MLA, Gajuwaka, Dr.K.Haribabu, Ex-MP, Visakhapatnam, Shri Vishnu Kumar Raju, Ex-MLA, Divisional Railway Manager Shri Chetan Kumar Shrivastava and other dignitaries, invitees. DRM, Shri Chetan Kumar Shrivastava extending warm welcome to the huge gathering, said that Visakhapatnam, popularly known as The City of Destiny is cosmopolitan in nature and is the largest city of Andhra Pradesh. There is long pending demand for the connectivity of this city with Vijayawada, and Uday will cater the need of the public of this region. The public representatives speaking on the occasion commended the team of Waltair Division in keeping the railway stations clean, most tourists’ friendly, performance excellence. Speaking on the occasion Shri Suresh Angadi said that Visakhapatnam being the most beautiful city, rightly named as the city of destiny, is heaven on earth. The team Waltair did excellent work in contributing the good share to the National carrier. It is the role model to many Divisions, he added. He placed on record of appreciation for developing Entertainment zone at the railway station and other innovative initiatives by the Division. He also mentioned that the Visakhapatnam station is the cleanest station and also nominated for the National Tourism award for the best tourist friendly railway station. Prior to inaugural function he inspected Visakhapatnam railway station. The special express train with train No. 02701 Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada Uday Visakhapatnam was flagged off at 11.30hrs The regular service will commence from 27.09.2019. The details are as given below. 1. The train No. 22701 Visakhapatnam- Vijayawada Double Decker UDAY express will leave Visakhapatnam on every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday at 05.45hrs which will reach Vijayawada at 11.15hrs 2. Return direction the train No. 22702 Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam Double Decker UDAY express will leave Vijayawada on every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday at 17.30hrs which will reach Visakhaptnam at 23.00hrs
